Cold Brew – A Brewing Guide
The Fall is here, which means the cold weather is approaching. Most people brew a nice hot cups of coffee – but hear us out and give our coffee a try as cold brew. Cold brew is a vastly popular beverage which can be found year round. It is a mellow, yet flavorful take on coffee, and it also packs a caffeinated punch to give you the energy to get you through the day. We would like to share with you one of our favorite cold brew recipes that you can make from the comfort of your own home!
How To Make Cold Brew
- To start, cold brew is made using a coffee:water ratio of 1:8 weighed in grams.

For example, if you wanted to make 32 ounces of cold brew, or roughly 907 grams of water, you would use 114 grams of coffee.

If you do not own a scale, you can use 4 cups of water and 23 tablespoons of coffee.

Note: A tablespoon of coffee is roughly 5 grams in weight

2. After weighing your coffee, grind it on a coarse setting. The grinds should be about the size of himalayan sea salt.
3. Weigh out your cold water into a device of your choice (Mason Jars are a popular selection).
4. Using a filter such as a cold brew sock, you can place your ground coffee into the filter and place it into the water.
5. It is ideal to let it sit in the fridge overnight from anywhere between 12-24 hours.
6. After letting the coffee infuse in the fridge, remove, pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!
