Coffee in the Summer: Cold Brew


Ah, a refreshing cup of cold brew; nothing quite like it. It’s a shame you can only get it at a café… or can you? While, of course, we would love for you to stop by our café and grab a cup from our keg, you can also make your own delicious cold brew from the comfort of your own home. Curious how? How to Brew, a Delicious Cold Brew


  1. First, you’re gonna want to select a coffee. Personally, we recommend medium to dark roasts for cold brew, but you can make a fantastic brew with a light roast as well. Check out our selection here. Oh, if you don’t own a grinder, select the Cold Brew/French Press grind setting and we’ll take care of that for you.

  2. Now, we can begin the process. We recommend a coffee : water ratio of 1:12, measured in grams. You can adjust this depending on how strong you want your coffee to be.
    • Example: If you want to make 32 ounces of coffee, you would use 907 grams of water, and 76 grams of coffee.
      • If you do not own a scale, 1 table spoon is equal to 5 grams of coffee.

  3. Grind your coffee on a coarse setting. The goal is for the grinds to be roughly the size of Himalayan sea salt.

  4. Weigh out your cold water into your device of choice (Mason jars are a popular selection).

  5. Fill your filter up with the ground coffee (we recommend using a cold brew sock) and place it into your water.

  6. Let the brewer sit in the fridge overnight, anywhere between 12-24 hours. We find that 18 hours is a good sweet spot.

  7. After the coffee is done brewing, pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!
